Contract | Rotating Days and Nights | 3x12-Hour Shifts
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care on a Medical Surgical / Telemetry unit, with potential to float to other units serving the same patient population
- Work a rotating day/night schedule with shifts running 7:00 AM–7:30 PM and 7:00 PM–7:30 AM; shift assignments may vary based on operational needs
- Complete ECG rhythm recognition and safeMedicate assessments during orientation, achieving acceptable scores on both (up to two attempts permitted)
- Participate in holiday rotation, working at minimum every other holiday
- Maintain active BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications throughout the duration of the contract
- Adhere to annual hands-on competency and module requirements as directed by the facility for continuous contract travelers
Required Qualifications
- Active, permanent Ohio RN license or compact state license — must be in hand at time of submission; license hits are not accepted
- Minimum of 12 months of permanent experience in Medical Surgical / Telemetry nursing
- Active AHA or American Red Cross BLS certification — must be in hand at time of submission; pending certifications are not accepted
- Active ACLS certification — must be in hand at time of submission
- Active NIHSS certification — must be in hand at time of submission
- One professional reference from a manager, assistant nurse manager, supervisor, or director within the specialty, from an assignment worked within the past 12 months — co-worker references are not accepted
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Telemetry experience with demonstrated ECG rhythm recognition skills
- Experience working in a high-volume acute care hospital environment
- Familiarity with electronic health records and medication administration assessment tools
