Schedule / Job Type
Contract | 13 Weeks | Night Shift (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) | Expected 36 or 48 hours/week | Every other weekend required | Must work 2 out of 3 winter holidays
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care on a 12-bed Medical Surgical / Telemetry unit with a 1:4 patient ratio
- Manage and monitor patients with diagnoses including respiratory illnesses, renal illnesses, diabetes, sepsis, cellulitis, infections, heart failure, sickle cell, and cystic fibrosis
- Document all patient care activities accurately using Epic EMR
- Float within scope of practice as needed per facility float policy
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary care teams to ensure safe and effective patient outcomes
Required Qualifications
- Active Virginia RN license (pending license accepted; must be in hand by the Wednesday before start date)
- BLS certification required
- Epic EMR experience required
- Nursys verification required at time of submission
- References required
- Copies of all required certifications must be included with submission
- Candidates must live at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible (locals are not accepted for select units per facility policy)
Preferred Experience / Skills
- BSN preferred
- Prior experience in a Medical Surgical or Telemetry setting
- Familiarity with telemetry monitoring and management of complex, multi-diagnosis patient populations
