Contract | 13 Weeks | Days | Monday–Friday, 7:30 AM – 6:00 PM with On-Call | Onsite
Key Responsibilities
- Provide pre-operative and post-operative nursing care within a Same Day Surgery unit (this is a pre/post position — not an OR Circulator role)
- Manage patient ratios of 2–3:1 in post-op and 1–2:1 in pre-op, adjusted based on patient acuity
- Perform procedures including IV starts, administration of basic IV infusions, Foley catheter insertion, and EKG
- Document patient care using the Meditech electronic documentation system
- Float within Surgical Services on a PRN basis or per facility policy as needed
- Adhere to AIDET patient experience standards and complete Pediatric and Neuro Post-Operative competencies during on-site orientation
Required Qualifications
- Active RN license valid in the state of Georgia
- Minimum of 1–2 years of pre-operative and post-operative nursing experience required
- BLS certification required
- ACLS certification required
- PALS certification required
- Proficiency with Meditech or comparable electronic documentation systems
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience working in a Same Day Surgery or ambulatory surgical setting
- Familiarity with equipment such as bladder scanners, vein finders, and EKG machines
- Experience in a Level 3 Trauma Center environment
- Prior travel nursing experience
