Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care on a 32-bed Medical Surgical / Telemetry unit serving an adult and older adult population
- Manage a patient assignment at a 1:5 nurse-to-patient ratio, including trauma patients and those requiring acute medications
- Administer and monitor Heparin drips and all other acute medications as ordered
- Utilize specialty equipment including gait belts, geriatric chairs, and physical therapy equipment
- Document patient care accurately using EPIC EMR
- Adhere to mandatory holiday coverage requirements, including working either Thanksgiving Day or the day after Thanksgiving, and either Christmas Eve and Christmas Day or New Year's Eve and New Year's Day
Required Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
- BLS certification required
- ACLS certification required
- Documented Medical Surgical and Telemetry experience with completed skills checklist
- Proficiency with EPIC EMR
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience in Skilled Nursing or Rehabilitation settings
- Prior NICHE (Nurses Improving Care for Healthsystem Elders) training
- Experience caring for geriatric patient populations
