Job Title
Progressive Care RN – Nights
Location
Hilo, HI | Acute Care
Schedule / Job Type
Contract | Night Shift (6:45 PM – 7:15 AM) | Expected 36 hours/week | No call required
Key Responsibilities
- Provide primary nursing care on a 15-bed Progressive Care Unit, including a 3-bed Step Down ICU and 12-bed telemetry unit
- Perform telemetry monitoring and telemetry strip reading for assigned patients
- Conduct fingerstick blood sugar monitoring and other bedside assessments
- Operate unit equipment including BIPAP, continuous cardiac monitoring, Meditech charting, and Pyxis medication dispensing systems
- Maintain patient ratios of 1:4 for Progressive Care and 1:3 for Step Down ICU
- Float to other acute units within the facility, including Medical, Surgical/Peds, ICU, and Emergency departments as needed
Required Qualifications
- Active State of Hawaii RN license required by assignment start date — candidates without a current HI license must apply upon acceptance of offer
- Minimum 1 year of hospital acute care experience within the last year
- Ability to work night shifts and float to all acute units in-house
- Professional scrubs required per dress code
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Progressive Care and telemetry nursing experience strongly preferred
- ACLS certification preferred
- Current PALS certification preferred
- NIHSS certification preferred
