Schedule / Job Type
Contract | 13 Weeks | Days, 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM | Expected 36–48 hours/week | Every other weekend required (approximately 4 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule)
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care on a 30-bed cardiac medical-surgical unit with a 6:1 patient ratio
- Perform and document telemetry application, acknowledge rhythm strips, and place in chart each shift
- Manage and administer vasoactive and cardiac drips including Heparin, Cardizem, Dobutamine, Dopamine, and Amiodarone
- Perform and assist with unit procedures including chest tube management, wound vac management, and ad lib EKGs
- Conduct bedside rounding and hourly rounding using the 5P framework; communicate known patient needs to PCTs at shift start and throughout the shift
- Float to other medical-surgical areas (general M/S, Ortho, PCU, M/S Surgical with Oncology) on a rotating basis unless skill mix requires otherwise
Required Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
- ACLS certification required
- BLS certification required
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience
- Proficiency with electronic documentation; experience with Meditech or similar EMR systems
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Cardiac nursing knowledge and telemetry experience strongly preferred
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
- Familiarity with Meditech-HCA documentation platform and Pyxis ES dispensing system
- Experience with GE Telemetry monitoring equipment
