Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care on a Pulmonary/Med Surg unit with a 23-bed capacity and a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4–6
- Administer and monitor Heparin drips and other ordered medications in accordance with facility protocols
- Care for Pulmonary and ventilated patients, including those requiring Bi-PAP and trach care
- May be required to care for COVID-positive patients following established safety protocols
- Float across multiple campuses as directed by facility needs
- Fulfill charge nurse responsibilities as assigned, consistent with current charge experience
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 24 months of current Medical Surgical (Med Surg) experience
- Pulmonary patient care experience required
- Current, active Iowa RN license or valid Compact/Multistate RN license at time of submission
- BLS certification from AHA (American Heart Association) or ARC (American Red Cross) required
- Recent/current charge nurse experience required
- Must live at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience caring for ventilated patients on Bi-PAP and performing trach care highly preferred
- Level I Trauma experience highly preferred
- Professional reference from a charge nurse, supervisor, nurse manager, director, CNO, or COO within the past 24 months preferred
- First-time travelers will be considered if the 24-month Med Surg experience requirement is met
