Schedule / Job Type
Contract | Travel | 13 Weeks | Days (7:00 AM – 7:30 PM) | Rotating Weekends | Expected 36 hours/week
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care in a cardiovascular intensive care unit, including post-CABG, post-VAD, and post-cardiac catheterization patients with various cardiac support devices
- Perform and interpret hemodynamic monitoring, including Swan-Ganz catheters and arterial lines
- Manage patients on mechanical ventilation, applying strong critical thinking skills in a high-acuity environment
- Utilize electronic documentation systems for accurate and timely charting and order entry
- Float to other units as required per facility floating policy
- Adhere to facility attendance, badging, and scheduling policies including punctual shift arrival
Required Qualifications
- Active Texas RN License — temporary licenses are not accepted
- ACLS certification required
- BLS certification required
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required
- Minimum 2 years of ICU experience
- Proficiency in hemodynamic monitoring (Swan-Ganz catheters, arterial lines) and ventilator management
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience with Intra-Aortic Balloon Pump (IABP), Impella, or ECMO support devices
- Exposure to Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy (CRRT)
- Familiarity with Meditech documentation and order entry
