Float Pool Registered Nurse – Medical/Surgical Telemetry
Location
Salem, MA | Acute Care
Schedule / Job Type
Contract | Nights | Expected 36–48 hours/week | Every Other Weekend Required | Days/Evenings rotation with 1–3 night rotations per contract
Key Responsibilities
- Float between up to 8 different Medical/Surgical Telemetry units throughout the hospital as assigned
- Perform cardiac monitoring, including measuring intervals and interpreting telemetry strips every 4 hours
- Administer and manage cardiac drips in accordance with facility protocols
- Provide care for ED border patients, serve as medication nurse in the acute mental health unit, and care for non-vented transfer-ready ICU patients
- Maintain clinician-to-patient ratios of up to 5:1 on days/evenings and up to 6:1 on nights
- Document and chart using EPIC EMR
Required Qualifications
- Active Massachusetts RN License required
- AHA BLS Certification required
- Minimum 2 years of acute care hospital experience in a single location
- Minimum 2 years of experience working as a travel nurse
- Proficiency in telemetry monitoring, cardiac drip management, and reading telemetry strips
- TR Band experience required
Preferred Experience / Skills
- 2 or more years of experience specifically in telemetry monitoring and cardiac care
- Prior float pool experience across multiple unit types
- Familiarity with EPIC EMR
