Contract | Night Shifts (1830–0700) | Every other weekend required | Holiday rotation with core staff
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care on a 46-bed Medical Surgical unit at a 5:1 nurse-to-patient ratio
- Manage patients with diagnoses including pneumonia, COPD, diabetes, ESRD, cellulitis, GI issues, gunshot and stab wounds, abdominal drains, and trauma-related neuro conditions
- Administer and monitor drips including Heparin and Blood products
- Monitor and manage patients on BiPAP and CPAP as needed during night shifts
- Read and interpret telemetry strips when floated to Med/Tele floor
- Float within skill set to MedSurg 5, Tele 7, and Rehab units as needed
Required Qualifications
- Active RN license valid in the state of California
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
- Proficiency with Cerner EMR
- Ability to read and interpret telemetry/cardiac strips (required for float coverage)
- Availability to work a minimum of 2–3 major holidays; time-off requests must be kept to a minimum
- Ability to work every other weekend
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Chemotherapy (Chemo) certification preferred
- Prior experience with trauma, wound care, or abdominal drain management
- Experience floating to telemetry or rehabilitation units
