PCU / Stepdown Registered Nurse

Contract | Nights | Expected 36 hours/week
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care on a Stepdown/PCU unit managing surgical, medical, and neuro patient populations
- Perform and manage vasoactive drip titration including neosynephrine, amiodarone, and cardizem
- Operate and monitor common unit equipment including IV pumps, PCA pumps, BiPAP/CPAP, optiflow, vapotherm, and bladder scanners
- Manage lines and vascular access including IV insertion, PICC/central line management, A-line management, and dialysis fistula care
- Provide airway support including CPAP/BiPAP and trach care
- Float to other units as required and manage epidural/PCA pumps, feeding tubes, and wound vacs
Required Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Minimum of 2 years of critical care experience
- Proficiency in vasoactive drip titration
- Required line management skills: IV insertion, PICC/central line management, vascular device access/care, dialysis fistula care, and A-line management
- Required airway skills: CPAP/BiPAP and trach care
- Required procedural skills: epidural/PCA pump management, feeding tubes, and wound vac management
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Candidates with both ICU and PCU experience are strongly preferred
- CVP monitoring experience
- Cardiac skills including 12-lead EKG acquisition, sheath removal, and cardioversion/defibrillation
