Contract | 13 Weeks | 12-Hour Night Shifts (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM) | Every Other Weekend and Holiday | Onsite
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care to surgical oncology and medical oncology patients on a MedSurg Oncology unit with patient ratios of 5:1 on nights (up to 7:1 in rare circumstances)
- Administer and monitor medications using Alaris pumps and Rovers for medication scanning; document care using Epic EMR
- Float as needed to other areas and care for patients within scope, including floating in 4-hour blocks and prior to staff RNs
- Collaborate with CNAs and unit techs (techs are present on all night shifts) to deliver safe, high-quality patient care
- Maintain compliance with facility infection control policies, including mandatory masking requirements for staff who decline flu and COVID vaccinations during flu season
Required Qualifications
- Active Wisconsin RN License required
- Current BLS certification required
- Chemotherapy (Chemo) certification required
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience with oncology experience required
- Previous electronic charting experience required; Epic experience strongly preferred
- Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible
Preferred Experience / Skills
- 1 year of experience on a MedSurg Oncology (MSO) unit preferred
- Proficiency with Epic EMR preferred
- Familiarity with Alaris pumps and Rovers for medication scanning
