Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and deliver patient care utilizing the nursing process, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care in an Emergency Department setting
- Demonstrate competence in care of patients with complex problems, addressing physical, psychosocial, educational, and safety aspects of care appropriate to the patient population
- Assess and anticipate discharge needs of individual patients and families, consulting appropriate resources for complex care issues and high-risk discharge planning
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to evaluate patient care, communicate relevant information, and promote continuity of care
- Organize and prioritize care according to patient and family needs, utilizing healthcare organization standards, policies, and procedures
- Participate in unit goal development, performance improvement activities, and cost-effective care practices
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of one (1) year of nursing experience
- Nursing Diploma, ADN, or ASN from an accredited school of nursing
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of North Carolina
- Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider certification from AHA or ARC
Preferred Experience / Skills
- BSN or MSN from an accredited school of nursing
- Experience working in an Emergency Department or fast-paced acute care environment
