Key Responsibilities
- Assumes responsibility for an assigned group of patients, delivering competent and comprehensive nursing care
- Documents patient responses to nursing interventions and prescribed medical treatments; notes all changes in physician orders
- Obtains and monitors physiological data, observes patient status, and intervenes when necessary
- Administers medications as prescribed; initiates, regulates, and monitors intravenous infusions and blood products
- Assists physicians during patient examinations and minor diagnostic procedures
- Communicates care plans to patients and families throughout the hospital stay and at discharge; delegates tasks to support staff as appropriate
Required Qualifications
- Associate's Degree in Nursing from an accredited program
- Current RN License issued by the Oklahoma State Board of Nursing, or a current multistate compact RN License (eNLC)
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
- Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience
- Knowledge of professional nursing theory, practices, techniques, and procedures
- Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to respond effectively to cultural and language needs of patients and visitors
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or higher from a board-approved program
- Ability to organize, plan, coordinate, and evaluate nursing services with proficiency
- Experience working collaboratively in a team-based hospital environment
