Key Responsibilities
- Assess patient needs through history, observation, physical examination, and analysis of diagnostic data
- Prep the operating room for patient and procedure; position and prepare patient on the operating table
- Perform all circulating duties with efficiency and speed, including duties within or outside the sterile field as assigned
- Complete verification of the Safe Surgery checklist in accordance with service excellence standards
- Delegate, supervise, and evaluate activities of other team members while executing interventions in urgent or emergent situations
- Serve as communication liaison to family members and the operating team; participate in assigned call as scheduled
Required Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in South Carolina or compact state eligibility
- Operating Room clinical experience required
- Ability to perform circulating duties independently and efficiently
- Proficiency with computer programs utilized in patient care delivery
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience with sterile field techniques and surgical supply/equipment management
- Familiarity with Safe Surgery protocols and surgical checklist processes
- Demonstrated ability to function effectively in urgent or emergent intraoperative situations
