Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care on a Medical/Surgical Neurology unit during day shift hours
- Manage and monitor neurological patients, applying NIHSS assessment skills as part of routine care
- Care for step-down level patients as needed in addition to standard med/surg assignments
- Accurately document all patient care activities and assessments using EPIC EMR
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure safe, high-quality patient outcomes
Required Qualifications
- Active, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Minimum 2 years of experience in Medical/Surgical nursing
- Neuro experience required
- NIHSS certification required — must be documented in candidate profile/CV
- ACLS certification required
- Proficiency with EPIC EMR — must be noted on profile
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Step-down unit experience
- Strong clinical assessment skills with complex, high-acuity neurological patients
- Experience working in a fast-paced acute care environment
