Contract (13 or 26 week options available) | Nights (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM, 3x12-hour shifts) | 36 or 48 hour weekly options available | Onsite
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care on a fast-paced, 45-bed medical/surgical trauma unit serving hemodynamically and medically stable trauma patients admitted from the emergency department, transferred from the ICU, or admitted from surgical/procedural services
- Manage acute and chronic care needs for trauma patients, including administration of IV drips, which are required on all floors
- Document patient care and clinical information using EPIC electronic health records (required)
- Float within scope of practice to meet facility staffing needs across multiple units and campuses as directed
- Collaborate with an interdisciplinary care team including CNAs, care techs, transport team, paramedics/swoop, and LPNs (where assigned)
- Adhere to all facility policies, including a 100% nicotine-free facility requirement
Required Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (Nebraska RN state license required; pending license accepted, though confirmed start date may be adjusted accordingly)
- BLS certification required
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience in a large, urban hospital setting; experience at a Level I Academic Medical Center may be considered in lieu of first-time traveler restriction
- Proficiency with IV drip administration
- EPIC charting experience required
- Must reside more than 100 miles from the facility to be eligible
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Prior experience in a trauma or high-acuity medical/surgical environment
- Comfort with frequent floating across multiple units and care settings
- Experience working in a Level I Academic Medical Center
