Travel RN – Cardiac Intensive Care Unit (CICU), Night Shift
Location

Schedule / Job Type
Contract | 13 Weeks | Nights (6:45 PM – 7:15 AM) | 12-Hour Shifts | Expected 36 hours/week | Alternating Weekends
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care in a 16-bed Cardiac ICU with patient ratios of 2:1 or 1:1 (occasionally 3:1 depending on acuity)
- Perform titration of vesicant medications, manage pressors, sedation, and paralytics
- Operate and monitor ventilators, tracheostomies, telemetry, and hemodynamic equipment including PA catheter setup and interpretation
- Assist with or support unit procedures including cardioversion, central line insertion, bronchoscopy, chest tube insertion, pericardiocentesis, and thoracentesis
- Document all patient care activities using Cerner electronic health records
- Float to other areas of the facility per traveler floating policy
Required Qualifications
- Active RN license valid in North Carolina (or compact eligibility)
- Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required
- Proficiency in titration of vesicant medications, pressors, sedation, and paralytics
- Experience with ventilator management and tracheostomy care
- Competency in telemetry interpretation and hemodynamic monitoring, including PA catheter setup and interpretation
- Ability to adhere to unit dress code: all navy or navy and white scrubs (no pullovers, hoodies, or green scrubs)
Preferred Experience / Skills
- CCRN certification preferred
- Experience with IABP, Impella, and/or CRRT strongly appreciated
- Familiarity with transvenous pacing, TEE, and hypothermia protocols
- Prior experience with Cerner documentation system
