We are seeking a skilled Gastroenterologist for a 120-day assignment in Maine. The role involves a 4-5 day per week schedule, from 8 AM to 5 PM, focusing on upper and lower GI endoscopy procedures with an expected volume of 14-18 scopes daily. This position requires inpatient duties and shared call responsibilities.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Perform 4-5 days per week, 8 AM to 5 PM, based on endoscopy needs.
- Manage an expected patient volume of 14-18 scopes per day.
- Conduct procedures lasting 30 minutes each.
- Participate in shared call with two other Gastroenterologists, currently covering 7 consecutive days 24/7.
- Handle inpatient cases, including upper GI Endoscopy with biopsy, foreign body removal, fulguration of bleeder, injection of varices, banding of varices, ERCP/EUS (preferred but not required), esophageal dilation, lower GI endoscopy, Sigmoidoscopy, colonoscopy, and liver biopsy.
- Treat adult to geriatric patient populations.
- Advanced procedure capability is preferred.
