Contract | Nights | 3x12-Hour Shifts (6:45 PM – 7:15 AM) | Onsite
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care on a Telemetry unit with a night shift nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:6
- Monitor and manage patients on cardiac drips and interpret EKG readings
- Float to other units as assigned based on departmental needs
- Participate in on-call rotation and provide every-other-weekend coverage
- Work 2 of 4 designated holiday periods annually (Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's) based on departmental needs and fair staff rotation
- Be available to serve on an Emergency Team or relief team in the event of an emergency, as directed by the unit manager
Required Qualifications
- Active Compact or Louisiana RN license in hand at time of submittal
- BLS certification (AHA required)
- NIH Stroke Scale certification
- Minimum 1 year of Telemetry and/or Med-Surg experience
- Proficiency with Epic EMR
- Must reside more than 65 miles from the facility (based on address on driver's license) to be eligible
- NURSYS report must be submitted with profile and current within 4 weeks of submission date
- Candidates who previously worked as permanent staff or in-house agency contractors at this health system must have been separated for a minimum of 1 full year before returning as a traveler
Preferred Experience / Skills
- ACLS certification preferred
- Experience with cardiac drips and telemetry monitoring beyond minimum requirement
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
