Overnight Coverage | Flexible Call Structure | OB + Epidurals | Epic
Rhino Medical is leading the charge seeking an experienced Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) for a focused locum tenens need in Potsdam, New York. The primary need is overnight anesthesia coverage, with six shifts across a two-week period and two scheduling models available to accommodate provider preference.
This assignment is well suited to a CRNA comfortable in a rural practice environment with inpatient anesthesia, obstetrics, epidurals, scheduled surgical cases, and overnight responsibility.
Schedule
- 6 overnight call shifts within a 2-week period
- Two available coverage structures:
Option 1 — Overnight Shifts
- Three consecutive 12-hour overnight shifts
- 7:00 PM–7:00 AM
- No daytime coverage
- Provider may select three nights between Monday–Thursday
Option 2 — Day Shift + Overnight Call
- 7:00 AM–3:00 PM day shift
- 3:00 PM–7:00 AM home call
- Work Sunday, Tuesday and Thursday
- Post-call days off Monday, Wednesday and Friday
Clinical Scope
- Inpatient anesthesia
- Obstetric anesthesia
- Epidurals
- General anesthesia
- Scheduled surgical cases
- Approximately 10–15 patients
- CRNA supervision may be part of the assignment
- Additional responsibilities discussed during interview
Practice Environment
- Rural hospital setting
- Primary need focused on overnight anesthesia coverage

- Combination of scheduled and inpatient anesthesia responsibilities
Requirements
- Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist
- Active New York license in hand
- Board Certified; Board Eligible candidates considered
- BLS, ACLS and PALS
- Epic experience required
- Comfortable practicing in a rural hospital environment
- Comfortable with OB, epidurals and general anesthesia
