Contract | Day Shift | 8-hour or 10-hour shifts (shift start times ranging from 6:00 AM – 9:00 AM) | Rotating weekends required | On-call responsibilities included
Key Responsibilities
- Provide pre-operative nursing care within a hospital-based surgical center supporting 15 OR suites and approximately 55–70 cases per day
- Care for patients undergoing a wide range of procedures, including same-day and overnight-stay surgeries
- Perform and maintain strong IV insertion and management skills throughout the pre-op process
- Apply surgical care knowledge, including familiarity with robotic-assisted procedures
- Float to the OR holding area as needed
- Participate in a rotating on-call schedule, including 1–2 second-call assignments per scheduling period (24-hour weekend call, 7A–7A) with a 30-minute call response time requirement
Required Qualifications
- Active RN license (any licensing history or hits must be disclosed at time of submission)
- BLS certification (current/unexpired) required
- Strong IV skills — required for this role
- Surgical care knowledge, including experience with robotics
- A copy of a valid, unexpired driver's license must be submitted with all applications
- Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Prior experience in a pre-operative or surgical center nursing role
- Familiarity with Sunrise EMR; upcoming transition to EPIC is anticipated
- Experience with rotating weekend and on-call scheduling in a surgical environment
