Schedule / Job Type
Contract | Nights | 3x12-Hour Shifts (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) | Every other weekend required (including Friday, Saturday, and Sunday nights)
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care on a 54-bed Cardiovascular Telemetry unit, organized across three 18-bed wings
- Care for cardiovascular telemetry patients, including those in the overflow unit as needed
- Monitor and interpret telemetry data, responding appropriately to changes in patient condition
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation using EPIC
- Float to other units based on facility needs as requested
- Adhere to holiday scheduling requirements; if a holiday falls within the assignment period, the nurse may be scheduled to work
Required Qualifications
- Active RN license — Virginia license required to be in hand at time of submittal, or proof of a compact license
- BLS certification required — must be through the American Heart Association (AHA)
- ACLS certification required — must be through the American Heart Association (AHA)
- NIHSS certification required; NIH and stroke education required
- EPIC EMR experience required
- Specialty (Telemetry) experience within the last year required
- One supervisory reference required at time of submittal
- SSN required at time of submittal
- Local candidates are welcome and accepted
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience in a cardiovascular or telemetry-specific unit
- Flexible scheduling availability with minimal time-off requests during the assignment period
- PALS certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) preferred
