Key Responsibilities
- Provide nursing care during the antepartum, intrapartum, immediate postpartum, and neonatal phases of obstetrical care to Labor & Delivery patients
- Utilize the Nursing Process in accordance with the state Nurse Practice Act and facility policy and procedures
- Demonstrate critical thinking skills, scientific judgment, and leadership in anticipating and planning for safe delivery of care
- Maintain clinical competencies through continuing education
- Delegate patient care priorities commensurate with the education and experience of available staff
- Provide direction and supervision of assigned personnel delivering patient care
Required Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP, STABLE, and Fetal Monitoring
- Minimum 2 years of Labor & Delivery nursing experience
- Prior travel nursing experience required
- Must not be a local candidate — locals will not be considered for this position
- Navy scrubs required; no call expected
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience across all phases of obstetrical care including antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum
- Demonstrated leadership and supervisory experience in a Labor & Delivery setting
- Strong critical thinking and clinical decision-making skills in high-acuity environments
