Key Responsibilities
- Provide post-anesthesia recovery care for adult and pediatric patients across a broad range of surgical specialties including orthopedic, neurological, general, urology, dental, GYN, and pediatric ENT (T&A, BMT, etc.)
- Monitor and manage patients with nerve blocks, chest tubes, central lines, A-lines, and intubation
- Assist with coverage in the Pre-Op area as needed
- Maintain accurate and timely patient documentation using electronic health record systems
- Participate in on-call rotation as required
Required Qualifications
- Active RN license (pending license accepted at submission; must be active before start date)
- BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NIH Stroke Scale certification required
- Experience recovering patients across all surgical specialties except cardiac
- Pediatric patient care experience required
- Must live more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible
- Candidates must be able to complete an on-site drug screen prior to assignment start; panels include Amphetamine, Barbiturate, Benzodiazepine, Cocaine, Methamphetamine, Methadone, Opiates, Oxycodone, PCP, Marijuana, and Buprenorphine
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Minimum 2 years of PACU or post-anesthesia care experience preferred
- Critical care background strongly preferred
- Level II trauma experience preferred
- Experience with Cerner electronic health records preferred
