Schedule / Job Type
Contract | 12-Hour Night Shifts | 3 shifts per week (36 hrs/week) | 8-Week Assignment
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care in an active Labor & Delivery unit including LDR, Triage, OR, and PACU settings
- Manage high-risk obstetric patients including those on Magnesium or insulin drips, adhering to 1:1 staffing ratios per AWHONN standards
- Follow assigned C-Section patients through the entire continuum of care until sign-off
- Perform fetal surveillance monitoring using OBIX fetal surveillance system
- Document patient care using Meditech (PCS for L&D; ORM for Surgical) and administer medications via Pyxis and Solaris IV pumps
- Work 3–4 weekend shifts per 28-day schedule as part of a self-scheduling Women's Services team
Required Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse license in the State of California
- BLS and ACLS certifications issued through the American Heart Association
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification
- AWHONN Fetal Monitoring certification or equivalent
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a Labor & Delivery setting
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience caring for high-risk obstetric populations, including patients with diabetes or requiring Magnesium drip management
- Familiarity with Meditech, OBIX fetal surveillance, Pyxis medication dispensing, and Solaris IV pumps
- Experience in a Level II Trauma or teaching hospital environment
