Contract | Nights | 4x12-Hour Shifts (19:00–07:30)
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care in a high-risk, high-volume Labor & Delivery unit serving a diverse patient population including midwifery clients, private OB patients, and community care patients
- Function as Baby Nurse during delivery, providing continuous newborn care including eyes, Vitamin K injections (thighs), and newborn assessments until transfer to postpartum — hard stop requirement
- Circulate in the OR as required — hard stop requirement
- Administer and monitor high-acuity medications including Heparin, Insulin, and Magnesium Sulfate
- Utilize EPIC and perform electronic fetal monitoring — hard stop requirements
- Float to Postpartum and Antepartum units, and may float to sister facilities that provide Mother/Baby care
Required Qualifications
- Active RN license; compact license must be in hand at time of submission
- BLS certification required
- NRP certification required
- Minimum 1 year of Labor & Delivery experience
- High-risk L&D experience required; must be comfortable in fast-paced, high-acuity environments
- Must live at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible as a traveler (locals are accepted at the standard local rate)
Preferred Experience / Skills
- ACLS certification
- AWHONN Advanced or AWHONN Intermediate certification
- Experience with AWHONN staffing guidelines and high-volume delivery units (500–600 deliveries/month)
- Experience supporting patients in substance recovery or community care settings
