Contract | 13 Weeks | Nights | 12-hour shifts, 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM | Every other weekend and every other holiday required
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care on a Medical and Pediatrics (MAP) unit; travelers are not assigned pediatric patients
- Manage adult patients with conditions including respiratory illness, stroke, neurological disorders, gastrointestinal illness, diabetic management, renal failure, sepsis, wound care, and acute alcohol withdrawal
- Float to all inpatient units as needed
- Maintain patient ratios of approximately 1:6–7 on night shifts
- Document all patient care accurately using EPIC
- Collaborate with team members and ancillary staff to ensure the best possible patient experience
Required Qualifications
- Active Wisconsin RN License required
- BLS certification through AHA or ARC required
- Minimum 2 years of registered nursing experience
- Proficiency with EPIC EMR required
- During flu season, travelers who decline flu and COVID vaccination are required to wear a mask at all times per facility policy; compliance is mandatory with no exceptions
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Trauma Level II experience highly preferred
- Ability to work independently, manage tasks efficiently, and adapt to frequent changes throughout a shift
- Strong collaboration skills with willingness to ask questions and engage with the care team
- Positive attitude and resilience in a dynamic, fast-paced inpatient environment
