Travel RN – Inpatient Medical Surgical (Nights)

Schedule / Job Type
Contract | 13 Weeks | Night Shift (19:00–07:30) | Expected 36 or 48 hours/week | Every other weekend required | No call requirements
Key Responsibilities
- Utilize the nursing process to perform direct patient care activities for all age groups, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation
- Monitor and coordinate patient care activities with ancillary departments to optimize patient care and comfort
- Maintain professional accountability for provision of patient care and evaluate the overall effectiveness of care provided by other direct caregivers
- Coordinate patient care in conjunction with other departments while maintaining patient rights and confidentiality of patient information
- Operate unit equipment including Nova Meters for blood glucose, Alaris IV pumps, Kangaroo pumps, and SCD machines; document using EPIC EMR
- May be floated to other units depending on staffing needs
Required Qualifications
- Current RN license — must meet eligibility criteria for licensure in the state of Missouri or currently licensed in Missouri
- BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) only
- Minimum 1 year of inpatient Medical Surgical experience
- Flu vaccination (or facility-approved exemption) required for assignments between November 1 and April 1; declinations are not accepted
- Must be available the entire first week for day-shift orientation (night shift orients on days)
Preferred Experience / Skills
- ACLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA)
- Experience working with a diverse patient population in a team-oriented environment
- Familiarity with EPIC EMR
