Key Responsibilities
- Assumes responsibility for an assigned group of patients, documenting responses to nursing interventions and prescribed medical treatments and noting all changes in physician orders.
- Assists physicians in patient examinations and in performing minor diagnostic procedures and treatments.
- Obtains and monitors physiological data, observes physiological manifestations, and intervenes when necessary.
- Administers medications as prescribed; initiates, regulates, and monitors intravenous infusions and blood products.
- Interacts with patients and families to share the care plan throughout the hospital stay and at time of discharge, and makes referrals regarding patient care needs to appropriate personnel.
- Delegates tasks to support staff and performs other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Associate's Degree in Nursing from an accredited program.
- Current RN License issued by the Oklahoma State Board of Nursing, or a current multistate compact RN License (eNLC).
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association.
- PALS certification (American Heart Association).
- Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience.
- Knowledge of professional nursing theory, practices, techniques, and procedures; ability to organize, plan, coordinate, and evaluate nursing services.
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or higher from a Board-approved program.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to respond effectively to the cultural and language needs of patients and visitors.
- Proficiency with computer systems used in a clinical setting.
