Job Title
Float Pool Med/Surg Telemetry Registered Nurse
Location
Salem, MA | Acute Care
Schedule / Job Type
Contract | 36 hours/week | Days/Evenings with 1–3 night rotations per contract | Every Other Weekend
Key Responsibilities
- Float between 8 different Med/Surg Telemetry units throughout the hospital, adapting to varying patient populations and unit needs
- Perform cardiac monitoring, including measuring intervals and interpreting telemetry strips every 4 hours
- Administer and manage cardiac drips and provide care for non-vented, transfer-ready patients
- Care for ED border patients and serve as medication nurse in the acute mental health unit as assigned
- Document and chart using EPIC EMR
- Maintain clinician-to-patient ratios of up to 5:1 on days/evenings and up to 6:1 on nights
Required Qualifications
- Active Massachusetts RN License required
- AHA BLS certification required
- Minimum 2 years of acute care hospital experience in a single location
- Minimum 2 years of experience working as a travel nurse
- Proficiency in telemetry monitoring, cardiac drip management, and telemetry strip interpretation
- TR Band experience required
Preferred Experience / Skills
- 2 or more years of experience specifically in telemetry nursing
- Prior float pool experience with ability to adapt quickly across multiple unit types
- Familiarity with EPIC charting system
