Contract | Night Shift | Shifts: 6:30 PM–7:00 AM or 6:30 AM–7:00 PM (Night rotation) | Every other weekend required | Every third holiday required | No on-call or standby requirement
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care in a 35-bed Progressive Care Unit serving adult and geriatric populations with diagnoses including cardiac conditions, nephrology, stroke, diabetes, and continuous EEG monitoring
- Manage patient assignments at a ratio of 1:4–5, delivering high-quality, fast-paced nursing care with strong critical thinking and communication skills
- Titrate and manage drips including Cardizem, beta-blockers, and seizure medications
- Collaborate with charge nurses, patient care techs (ratio 1:10), and interdisciplinary team members to ensure safe, effective patient outcomes
- Float as needed to medical floors, ICU, or rehab units
- Successfully complete a required pass/fail orientation exam (open book, minimum passing score of 90%) during the first week of onboarding
Required Qualifications
- Active RN license in good standing
- Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
- Valid driver's license required at time of submittal (used to verify radius eligibility)
- Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible
- Candidates currently employed (full-time, part-time, or PRN) at any facility associated with CommonSpirit Health, including CHI or Dignity Health, are not eligible
- Artificial nails are prohibited in all patient care departments; compliance is required as a condition of the contract
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Prior experience in a PCU, stepdown, or IMC setting with exposure to cardiac and neurological patient populations
- Experience titrating cardiac and neurological drips in a clinical setting
- Demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with strong problem-solving and teamwork skills
