Contract | Night Shift | 3x12-Hour Shifts (6:45 PM – 7:15 AM) | 13–26 Week Contracts Available
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care on a Medical Surgical unit specializing in orthopedic, trauma, and general surgery patients, including those with severe bone, joint, and soft tissue injuries, traumatic brain injuries, spine injuries, and subdural hematomas
- Utilize unit systems including EPIC, Pyxis, and SBAR for documentation and medication management
- Maintain a patient ratio of 1:5–6; candidates must be comfortable with these ratios
- Float to similar units and alternate care locations, including inpatient holding areas, as needed
- Work every other weekend as required
- May be assigned to a Storm Team and/or Hurricane Team and expected to report during catastrophic events, mass casualty incidents, or disasters
Required Qualifications
- Active RN license in North Carolina or a Compact state (pending license acceptable for submission)
- BLS certification required
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
- Orthopedic, neurological, and/or trauma nursing experience required
- Must pass EKG testing prior to start
- Must be open to floating within and near the facility per job description
- Local candidates within 50 miles of the facility are accepted; a local rate will apply
Preferred Experience / Skills
- ACLS certification preferred
- Charge nurse experience preferred
