Contract | 13 Weeks | Nights (6:45 PM – 7:15 AM) | Onsite
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care in a 9-bed PICU setting with a 1:1–2 nurse-to-patient ratio
- Perform IV starts, urinary catheterizations, central line dressing changes, and assist with lumbar punctures
- Manage ventilators, hemodynamic monitoring, ICP monitoring, trach care, and tube feeding and placement
- Document all patient care activities using Cerner electronic health records
- Float to Pediatrics and NICU as needed per unit floating policy
- Adhere to scheduling requirements including 3 weekends per 6-week schedule cycle
Required Qualifications
- Active RN license valid in North Carolina (or compact state eligibility)
- PALS certification required
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience with at least 1 year of PICU-specific experience
- Proficiency with Alaris infusion pumps and Cerner documentation system
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience with pediatric stepdown care (1:2–3 nurse-to-patient ratio)
- Familiarity with ICP monitoring and advanced hemodynamic management in a pediatric population
- Prior travel nursing experience in a PICU or pediatric acute care setting
