Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care in a Step Down / IMC / PCU setting with an expected nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4
- Monitor and assess patients requiring intermediate-level cardiac and medical-surgical care
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary care teams to develop and implement individualized patient care plans
- Accurately document patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes in the facility EMR system
- Respond to changes in patient condition and initiate appropriate clinical interventions in a timely manner
Required Qualifications
- Active RN licensure valid in the state of Alabama (or compact equivalent)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification — must be in hand at time of submission
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification — must be in hand at time of submission
- Minimum 2 years of Step Down, IMC, or PCU nursing experience
- All required certifications must be current and on hand; submissions lacking certifications will not be considered
- Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for this travel assignment
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience with cardiac monitoring and telemetry interpretation
- Familiarity with electronic medical record (EMR) systems used in acute care environments
- Strong critical thinking and clinical assessment skills in a fast-paced intermediate care setting
