Schedule / Job Type
Contract | 13-Week Travel Assignment | Nights, 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM | Expected 36 or 48 hours/week | Every other weekend required | No call requirements
Key Responsibilities
- Utilize the nursing process to perform assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care for all age groups
- Monitor and coordinate patient care activities with ancillary departments to optimize patient outcomes and comfort
- Evaluate the overall effectiveness of care provided by other direct care givers and maintain professional accountability
- Maintain patient rights and confidentiality of patient information in accordance with applicable standards
- Function within the scope of nursing practice consistent with the Missouri Nurse Practice Act and established nursing guidelines
- May be floated to other units depending on staffing needs
Required Qualifications
- Current RN license — must meet eligibility criteria for licensure in the state of Missouri or hold a current Missouri RN license
- BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) only
- Minimum 1 year of inpatient Medical Surgical experience
- Flu vaccination (or facility-approved exemption) required for assignments running November 1 through April 1; declinations are not accepted
- Ability to stand and walk for the majority of the shift; must be able to push, pull, and grip up to 50 lbs. and perform bending, stooping, lifting, and turning patients with assistance
Preferred Experience / Skills
- ACLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA)
- Experience working with diverse patient populations in a team-oriented environment
- Familiarity with EPIC EMR
- Experience with Alaris IV pumps, Kangaroo pumps, Nova Meters, and SCD machines
