Contract | Days | 3x12-hour shifts (7:00–19:30) | Every other weekend required | Holidays on rotation | 4x12 schedule also accepted
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct inpatient nursing care to patients in a Hematology/Oncology/Bone Marrow Transplant (Heme/ONC/BMT) setting
- Administer and monitor chemotherapy treatments in accordance with facility protocols; Chemotherapy Certification required
- Monitor and interpret telemetry readings, including identification of lethal rhythms and heart block patterns
- Float to other units as needed based on patient census and staffing requirements
- Document all patient care accurately and thoroughly using EPIC electronic health records
Required Qualifications
- Active RN license required
- BLS certification required – American Heart Association (AHA) only
- Chemotherapy Certification required
- Minimum 3 years of recent experience in Heme/ONC/BMT; experience at a Level 1 trauma center or similarly sized hospital required
- EPIC experience required
- Must pass a Telemetry exam prior to start (adult and pediatric components; passing score of 80% or higher with strict criteria for lethal rhythm identification)
- Must live at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible; local candidates will not be accepted
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience in a Magnet-designated or academic medical center environment
- Familiarity with bone marrow transplant protocols and oncology-specific nursing care
- Strong telemetry and cardiac rhythm interpretation skills
