Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care in the Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) in accordance with the New York State Nurse Practice Act
- Manage AM admissions, blocks, and patient recovery in collaboration with the interdisciplinary care team
- Perform and monitor procedural sedation as part of patient care protocols
- Delegate and assign responsibilities appropriately to other care team members under the direction of the attending physician
- Document and manage patient care using EPIC electronic health records
- Serve as a leader of the interdisciplinary team, ensuring safe and effective patient outcomes
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of PACU experience required
- Experience with AM admissions, blocks, and recovery required
- Procedural sedation experience required
- EPIC EMR experience required
- Active New York State RN License required (must be uploaded with profile)
- ACLS, BLS, and PALS certifications required (must be current and uploaded with profile)
- Must have own personal vehicle — firm requirement
- Candidates must reside outside of the following New York counties to be eligible: Albany, Columbia, Dutchess, Fulton, Greene, Montgomery, Rensselaer, Saratoga, Schenectady, Ulster, Warren, and Washington
- Must be available to work holidays as needed
- Requested time off must be disclosed at time of submission; requests submitted after upload will not be approved, and no more than 5 days of RTO will be accepted
- Completion of Verbal De-escalation training through Welle or CPI required prior to onboarding
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Previous travel nursing experience highly preferred
- Familiarity with agency compliance processes and travel assignment expectations
- Experience working in a high-volume or regional medical center environment
