Registered Nurse – Intermediate Care (IMC/PCU/Stepdown)

Utica, NY | Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU)
Schedule / Job Type
Contract | Days | 6:30 AM – 7:00 PM | Block scheduling is not guaranteed; schedules are subject to change based on unit needs
Key Responsibilities
- Provide intermediate-level nursing care to adult patients (18+) across a 64-bed unit, including 15 designated Neuro beds
- Manage patients presenting with common diagnoses including Neuro, Cardiac, Trauma, Respiratory (COPD), DKA, Sepsis, MI, CV Stepdown, and post-operative conditions
- Operate and monitor specialty equipment including temporary pacers, chest tubes, arterial lines, BiPAP, and Neptune Vapo systems
- Support care of patients on chronic ventilators in coordination with Respiratory Therapy
- Float to other units as required based on staffing and patient care needs
- Document and manage patient care using EPIC EMR
Required Qualifications
- Active, unrestricted New York State RN License (verified through NURSYS)
- Minimum 2+ years of experience in IMCU/PCU setting
- Current AHA BLS certification required
- Current ACLS certification required
- Current NIHSS certification required
- Proficiency with EPIC EMR required
- Local candidates are welcome to apply
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Prior travel nursing experience in an IMCU or PCU setting
- Experience managing patients on chronic ventilators
- Familiarity with neurological and cardiac stepdown patient populations
