Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and deliver patient care utilizing the nursing process, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care for patients with complex problems
- Perform patient and family education by assessing readiness to learn, developmental level, and factors affecting the ability to learn, utilizing appropriate patient education materials
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to evaluate patient care, communicate relevant information, and promote continuity of care
- Organize and prioritize care according to patient and family needs, consulting appropriate resources for complex care issues, unusual teaching needs, or high-risk discharge planning situations
- Perform bedside point-of-care testing as required by the patient care plan, adhering to organizational nursing standards, policies, and procedures
- Participate in unit goal development, performance improvement activities, and cost-effective care practices while promoting a safe, clean, and secure environment
Required Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of North Carolina
- Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider certification (AHA or ARC)
- Nursing Diploma, ADN, or ASN from an accredited school of nursing
- Minimum of one (1) year of nursing experience
Preferred Experience / Skills
- BSN or MSN from an accredited school of nursing
- Experience working in an intensive care or critical care setting
