Contract | Days | 3x12-Hour Shifts (6:45 AM – 7:15 PM) | On-Call Required | Every Other Weekend Call
Key Responsibilities
- Provide perioperative nursing care in a high-volume operating room environment averaging 22 cases per day
- Perform both circulator and scrub roles across a broad range of surgical specialties
- Support cardiovascular procedures including vein harvesting and radial artery harvesting, aortic surgeries, bypasses, carotid procedures, and AV fistulas/grafts
- Assist with general, colorectal, vascular, thoracic, robotic, ENT, urology, orthopedic, and gynecologic surgical cases
- Participate in on-call coverage, including approximately 1 day of call per week and 1–2 weekend call rotations per 4–5 week schedule, with a 30-minute response time requirement
- Document patient care accurately using Cerner and Accudose systems
Required Qualifications
- Active WV or Compact RN License (pending license accepted for submission)
- BLS certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) required
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience; minimum 1 year of operating room specialty experience
- Cardiovascular surgery experience is required; candidates without CV or general surgery experience will not be considered
- Proficiency in circulating and scrubbing across multiple surgical specialties including vascular, general, robotic, orthopedic, ENT, urology, and gynecologic procedures
- Must reside more than 100 miles from the facility; candidates residing 75–100 miles away may be considered on a case-by-case basis
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience with robotic-assisted surgery (gynecologic, colorectal, hernia, laparoscopic Nissen procedures)
- Proficiency in thoracic surgical cases
- Familiarity with complex general surgery cases including Whipple procedures, liver resections, and colorectal resections
- Prior experience in a Level IV Trauma Center or major teaching hospital environment
