Contract (13 or 26 weeks) | Days | 4x12-hour shifts (7:00–19:00) | 36 or 48 hours per week | Onsite
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care to neonatal patients in a NICU setting within scope of practice
- Adhere to unit scheduling requirements, including 3 weekends per 6-week scheduling period and 2 out of 3 winter holidays
- Float within scope of practice to other units as needed per facility policy
- Complete specialty-specific orientation modules as assigned during onboarding
- Maintain accurate documentation and charting using Epic EMR
- Maintain all required certifications, including BLS, NRP, and Dr. Brown's Infant Driven Feeding Certification, throughout the duration of the assignment
Required Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Virginia (pending license accepted; must be in hand by the Wednesday before the start date)
- BLS certification required and must be current at time of submission
- NRP certification required and must be in hand at time of submission
- Dr. Brown's Infant Driven Feeding Certification required (may be submitted with certification pending)
- Epic EMR experience required
- Nursys verification required with submission
- Must live at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible (locals are not accepted for this unit)
Preferred Experience / Skills
- BSN preferred
- Prior travel nursing experience in a NICU setting
- Familiarity with neonatal feeding protocols and infant-driven feeding practices
