Contract | Nights | 3 x 12-hour shifts | Expected 36 hours/week | 6:45 PM – 6:45 AM
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinates and provides high-quality patient care in a caring and compassionate manner, utilizing the nursing process and unit-specific standards of practice
- Develops, implements, and continually reassesses each patient's individualized plan of care, including physical, psychological, social, and rehabilitative needs
- Administers medications and completes nursing procedures and/or treatments while accurately documenting care, assessments, interventions, and patient responses
- Performs holistic ongoing assessments of patient status and continually evaluates discharge plans for appropriateness, educational needs, and necessary changes
- Educates patients, families, and significant others on appropriate health information in a timely manner
- Communicates and collaborates with all members of the healthcare team; delegates appropriately and oversees care provided by non-licensed assistive personnel; may float in rotation or as a sitter
Required Qualifications
- Active Washington State RN license or Compact RN license required
- Active BLS certification required
- Active NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification required
- Active FHM (Fetal Heart Monitoring) certification required
- Must practice consistently within the guidelines of the Washington Nurse Practice Act and unit-specific standards of practice
- Must maintain current knowledge of workflows, processes, and evidence-based procedures
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Prior experience in Labor and Delivery nursing
- Experience with patient and family education in a clinical setting
- Familiarity with performance improvement processes and quality initiatives
