Key Responsibilities
- Consults and coordinates with health care team members to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care plans
- Prepares, administers (orally, subcutaneously, and via IV), and records prescribed medications; reports adverse reactions in accordance with facility policy
- Provides bedside care for a wide variety of medical patients, including pre- and post-surgery patients, and educates patients on surgical procedures and post-treatment home care needs
- Monitors and adjusts specialized equipment, interprets and records electronic displays, and initiates corrective action when a patient displays adverse symptomatology
- Performs clinical tasks including dressing changes, catheter insertion, and IV starts; prepares equipment and assists physician during examinations and treatments
- Participates in discharge planning and documents all care information concisely, accurately, and completely in the appropriate format and in a timely manner
Required Qualifications
- Active Wyoming RN license or multi-state RN license required
- Minimum 2 years of recent Med/Surg RN experience in a hospital setting
- ACLS, BLS, and PALS certifications required — must be issued through the American Heart Association
- Ability to occasionally care for pediatric and adolescent patients as needed
- Ability to float between two campuses depending on facility census
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Prior travel nursing experience in a community hospital setting
- Familiarity with electronic medical record (EMR) systems used in acute care environments
- Experience managing a diverse patient population including pre- and post-operative cases
