Job Summary
The organization is seeking an experienced registered nurse specialized in Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at a healthcare facility. The role involves providing critical care for patients with complex trauma, stroke, burns, and other medical and surgical conditions requiring advanced monitoring and intervention. This position requires a high level of clinical expertise and the ability to work in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary environment.
Job Details
- Position description: Provide advanced critical care management for patients with complex trauma, stroke, burns, and other critical medical conditions. Responsibilities include vent management, medication titration, arterial and central line management, and troubleshooting respiratory and monitoring equipment.
- Required Qualifications: Valid Illinois license or confirmation that the application process has been initiated, active BLS, ACLS, NIHSS certifications, and a minimum of 3 years of ICU experience.
- Schedule: 12-hour shifts, 36 hours per week, with work scheduled days from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM and nights from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM.
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience with CRRT, EVD/ICP management, and familiarity with Phillips monitors and EKG rhythm assessment.
- Additional Information: The unit maintains patient ratios of 1:2-3, has in-house hospitalist and intensivist coverage 24/7, and expects staff to float across the house with capped ratios when floated to Medical Surgical units. The ICU treats adult and pediatric patients requiring critical care, including trauma, burns up to 20% BSA without respiratory involvement, and neurological emergencies.
