Job Summary
Operating Room (OR) Nurse, located in an unspecified community hospital setting, provides specialized perioperative nursing care for patients undergoing surgical procedures. This role involves working days on ten-hour shifts, with no scheduled weekends but includes weekend call responsibilities. The position requires a valid RN license, BLS and ACLS certifications from the American Heart Association, and at least two years of OR experience.
Job Details
- Certifications, Education Requirements, Degree Requirements, Location Requirements, and Years of Experience: RN license, BLS and ACLS certifications from AHA 2+ years of OR experience.
- Schedule: Days, 10-hour shifts, 07:00 AM to 05:00 PM, minimum 40 hours per week.
- Responsibilities include assisting with a variety of surgical procedures such as general, GYN, orthopedics, and robotic surgeries; administering blood and blood products; monitoring cardiac activity; and utilizing appropriate surgical instrumentation and technology.
- Additional responsibilities include adherence to safety protocols, charting, and participating in scheduled on-call rotations every 4th weekend.
- Required to pass specific clinical competency assessments, including telemetry exams, with up to two attempts.
- Prior experience in inpatient acute care within the last three years is necessary, with a focus on OR procedures.
- Float: Float rotation may be required.
- Submission Requirements: Current certifications, proof of clinical competency, and compliance with ongoing testing standards are necessary for consideration.
