Job Summary
Operating Room (OR) Nurse, Urology, located in Milwaukee, WI. This position oversees patient care during urological procedures, including TURP, TURBT, cystoscopy, ureteroscopy, and prostate biopsies. Responsible for ensuring patient safety, assisting physicians, and maintaining documentation within a busy, Level III Trauma Center environment.
Job Details
- Position Description: Urology Center RN, with experience in outpatient procedures such as vasectomies, catheter changes, cystoscopies, ureteroscopy, clot evacuations, and stent placements/removals.
- Certifications, Education, and Experience: RN certification with BLS; experience with urological patient types, consents, positioning, prep, documentation, patient check-ins, patient transport to/from procedural rooms, catheter changes under local sedation; minimum of 2 years of nursing experience.
- Schedule: Dayshift, 8 hours per shift, 40 hours per week.
- Additional Information: Shift includes weekend rotation (every 5th weekend for RNs), on-call duties, holiday work, and potential to float to main operating room after cross-training. Orientation duration is 1-3 days based on individual comfort.
- Submission Requirements: Candidates must document pain levels before and after medication administration, adhering to pain score protocols, and must follow the facilitys fatigue policy limiting weekly work hours to 60 hours.
