Job Summary
Registered Nurse, Medical Surgical With Telemetry. The role provides routine and complex nursing care in a critical care step-down unit while coordinating patient needs, administering treatments, monitoring outcomes, and supporting patients and families. The position requires independent clinical judgment, effective delegation, and the ability to manage increasingly complex patient situations.
Job Details
- Required Qualifications: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA); current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA); registered nurse license in Texas or a compact state; bachelors degree in nursing preferred; minimum of 2 years of experience in a related nursing specialty required.
- Schedule: Night shift from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM, 12-hour shifts, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
- Additional Information: Provides nursing care through assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation. Responsibilities include administering medications and treatments, monitoring treatment effectiveness and side effects, documenting patient information and care, addressing patient and family needs, and providing education and resources. Newly hired experienced registered nurses complete orientation and competency validation, including medical-surgical competencies, with support from a trained preceptor. Annual competency verification is required.
