Registered Nurse - Step Down
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for the Step Down float pool who is proficient in providing care to patients requiring moderate supervision and nursing intervention. Ideal candidates will have a strong background in step down nursing and possess the ability to adapt to various patient care environments.
Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality nursing care to patients in step down, medical floors, and surgical/oncology units.
- Float between different departments as needed, including step down/ICU and medical/surgical units.
- Monitor and assess patient conditions, ensuring timely interventions and communication with the healthcare team.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, while adhering to established protocols.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records in the electronic medical record (EMR) system, specifically Epic.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of step down nursing experience required; ICU experience preferred.
- Must possess current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications.
- Prior travel nursing experience is required.
- Ability to float between multiple locations within the region as needed.
- Strong assessment, critical thinking, and communication skills.
