Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team. This position involves working in a fast-paced Med Surg unit, caring for patients with trauma, oncology, and general medical surgical needs.
Job Details
- Unit: Med Surg 6th Floor
- Unit Type: Medical Surgical
- Shift Length: 12 hours
- Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
- Required Experience: Minimum 2 years of acute care nursing experience
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients on the Med Surg unit.
- May be asked to float to other units, including ICU, PCU/Stepdown, and MS-Tele as needed.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to deliver optimal patient care.
- Ensure safety and quality standards are met throughout patient care.
- Participate in unit-specific orientation and training.
Qualifications
- Certifications: BLS (AHA) certification required.
- Experience: Strong background in acute care nursing.
- Skills: Competent in reading telemetry strips; familiarity with Phillips Telemetry monitors.
Unit Specifics
- Patient Ratios: 1:4-5 during the day, 1:5-6 during night shifts.
- Nurse Aide Ratio: 1:12.
- Equipment: Moderate oxygen needs; equipment includes CPAP and BiPAP as necessary.
Schedule
- Self-scheduling is available, including block scheduling options.
- Weekend Requirement: A minimum of six weekend shifts per six-week schedule is expected.
- Holiday requirements apply, as determined by needs.
Additional Information
All clinicians are expected to be present in-state for the orientation week, even if the first day consists of remote modules.
